An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction, but we pay it anyway. We can cover your overdrafts in two different ways:
--We have standard overdrafts practices that come with your account.
--We also offer overdraft protection plans, such as a link to another account you have with us, which may be less expensive than our standard practices. To learn more, ask us about these plans.
This notice explains our standard overdraft practices.
We do authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions:
--Checks, in-person withdrawals, ACH transactions, pre-authorized automatic transfers
--Automatic bill payments, internet banking transfers, telephone banking transactions
--Recurring debit card transactions
We do not authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions unless you ask us to (see below):
--Everyday debit card transactions
We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction.
If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined.
Under our standard overdraft practices:
--We will charge you an Overdraft/NSF Fee of $30 each time we pay an overdraft.
--Also, every fifth (5th) consecutive business day your account continues to be overdrawn, we will charge an additional Continuous Negative Balance Fee of $30.
--The Bank does not charge a checking account participating in the Overdraft Privilege Program a per item Overdraft/NSF Fee for transactions that overdraw an account in the amount of $5 or less or that overdraw an account by an aggregate amount of $5 or less. However, the Continuous Negative Balance Fee will still be charged on the fifth consecutive business day your account is overdrawn and each subsequent consecutive five business days your account remains overdrawn.
Yes, "Opt In" the accounts I have listed below. I am the owner or a joint account owner on these eligible account(s):
You May Opt Out of This Service at any Time: You have no obligation to participate in our Overdraft Privilege Service (ODP). If you do not use the service it costs you nothing. Generally, it is better - and less expensive - for you if we honor your occasional overdrafts than if we deny or return your NSF items unpaid. You may be able to avoid this by arranging for a transfer from another account or applying for a Ready Reserve Line or Credit arrangement with us to cover your overdrafts. Otherwise, if you do not want us to consider payment of your occasional overdrafts, it will be our normal practice to deny authorizing or paying any of these items for you. This may cause you additional expense and embarrassment. If you do not want the service, all you need to do is contact one of our service representatives at your local branch listed above. We will mark your account records to show that you do not want the service. You understand however, that even though we will mark your account records to indicate you do not want us to authorize/pay any NSF transactions you initiate using our Overdraft Privilege Service (ODP), we cannot guarantee that we will never exercise our discretion to authorize or pay a transaction you have initiated and for which you do not have sufficient collected funds (of your own money). You understand that we may authorize/pay one or more of your NSF items in error or inadvertently. You should also notify any joint account holder that you have elected to Opt Out from this service, as this may cause additional expense and embarrassment for the joint account holder unless you have made other arrangements with us for overdraft protection services.
Neither You Nor a Joint Account Holder, if any, Must Acknowledge This Opt Out Disclosure. You may call your local branch listed above to let the bank know your decision to "Opt Out". However, to further insure that we will not authorize/pay any NSF transactions you, or a joint account holder, might make - it may be helpful for both of us to have your acknowledgment of this Opt Out on file.
*It is not necessary to complete this form UNLESS you have previously given consent to Opt In.
My revocation is specific to the accounts listed below and I acknowledge it may take up to seven (7) business days from date of bank acceptance below for revocation to become effective. I understand I can Opt In for Overdraft Privilege Service to consider payment of ATM or Debit Card transactions at any time by contacting the bank.
I revoke my consent to authorize and pay overdrafts on my ATM and everyday debit card transactions on the accounts listed below:
